QUETTA/ISLAMABAD: The Balochistan government has decided to reopen more than 3,000 closed schools in the province.
As per report, the process of recruiting teachers on a contract basis is ongoing in different districts. There were 3,500 government schools in the province as of June this year.
Due to a lack of teachers, 254 schools in the Pishin district were also locked. To reopen these schools, the recruitment of teachers on a contract basis has started. So far, 163 teachers have been appointed.

“We had announced 185 posts, for which 900 candidates applied. Out of these, 163 teachers have been deployed. These teachers will reopen closed schools at their respective UC levels,” an official stated.
Among the contractual recruits in the Pishin district are women teachers from the Christian community who scored high marks in every examination through their hard work and ability.
When the merit list was prepared, one of the teachers, Urooj Arif, topped her district. Urooj, who believes in A, B, P, is delighted to teach small children.

The newly appointed teacher, Urooj Arif, shared, “After a week, I got a call. I was surprised because I hadn’t even paid any money. That’s when I realized I had been selected on merit.”
According to the Balochistan government, the contractual recruitment of teachers in Pishin and other districts has been conducted on merit.
However, the Anti-Corruption Department has launched an investigation into complaints of teachers being appointed through bribery in Kohlu and Dera Bugti.
