ISLAMABAD: Following a series of recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the government’s commitment to fully equip the armed forces with necessary resources to combat terrorism decisively.

“The Chief of the Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, and the armed forces personnel are resolute in their mission to rid the country of this scourge,” the premier stated during a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad.

Referring to the recent terror incidents as a “moment of reflection,” he reiterated that there is no place for terrorists in the country.

He resolved that the government would neither engage in talks with the enemies nor show any leniency towards them, as the entire nation is united in its determination to eliminate terrorists who seek to disrupt the country’s progress.

However, he stated that the doors for talks remain open only for those who recognize the country’s Constitution and flag.

PM Shehbaz said the terrorists’ nefarious intentions would fail and they would be crushed. He reemphasized that the terrorists would be completely eradicated, no matter what.

In a series of violent attacks across Balochistan over the past couple of weeks, especially between Sunday night and Monday, terrorists targeted civilians, police, and security forces separately.

In the Rarasham area of Musakhel district in the province, at least 23 passengers were killed on Monday after being offloaded from passenger buses and trucks.

Separately, at least 10 people, including police and Balochistan Levies personnel, were martyred in a gun attack in Kalat.

Prime Minister expressed regret over the attacks, adding that more than 50 citizens and security forces personnel were martyred in the recent terrorist incidents.

“Innocent people were killed in Dera Ismail Khan and Karak as well,” he said, adding that the Khawarij terrorists operated from across the border in Afghanistan.

Condemning the terror attacks in Balochistan, the PM also said that the terrorists aimed to stop Pakistan’s development by undermining the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other development projects.

“The terrorists aim to create a rift between Pakistan and China, as well as stir up anarchy within the country,” he said.
