ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that the collaboration between the government and institutions has reached unprecedented levels in Islamabad.

Prime Minister Shehbaz said while addressing the Ulema, Mashaikh Conference in Islamabad, “I want to say this without hesitation that in my 40-year political career, I have never witnessed the level of cooperation between the government and constitutional institutions that exists today.”

The prime minister comments come as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led coalition government works closely with different organizations, including the army, to tackle various problems, especially in the economy and security areas.

In its 265th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) last month, the military reaffirmed its commitment to fully support ongoing efforts in promoting socioeconomic growth and pledged to assist the government wholeheartedly in curbing all illegal activities that undermine investor confidence, economic stability, and growth.

Commending the partnership between Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir and the government in the nation’s best interest, the prime minister described it as a role model for the future.

While refraining from discussing previous regimes, the premier emphasized the need to address the social and economic challenges currently facing the country.

The PM, lamenting the collective shortcomings of the past 77 years, emphasized the need to learn from past mistakes and to highlight the collective successes that have been achieved.

Acknowledging that the country has not yet attained the status it was destined for, the premier stated that “it is still not too late” and that much can be achieved “if we choose to live our lives according to the guidelines of the Holy Quran.”
