ISLAMABAD: The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) increased by Rs.50 per kilogram (kg) on Monday, significantly impacting both domestic and commercial consumers.

The LPG Distributors Association Chairman announced a substantial increase in the price of LPG, but despite the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) setting the official price at Rs234.60 per kg, the market price has surged to Rs280-285 per kg.

After a fresh increase, the cost of a domestic LPG cylinder has risen by Rs600, now priced at Rs3,370. Commercial cylinders are now selling for over Rs12,435 in Pakistan.

New LPG Prices in Pakistan:

Item New Price
LPG Per Kg Rs. 280
Domestic Cylinder Rs. 3,370
Commercial Cylinder Rs. 12,435

OGRA officials accused LPG marketing companies of disregarding government-set prices and selling LPG at inflated rates. Last month, the price of LPG was slashed by Rs3.87 to Rs234 per kg.

Irfan Khokhar, chairman of the LPG Distributors Association, attributed the price hike to unauthorized practices by LPG marketing companies and plant mafia, who sold LPG at high prices instead of adhering to government-set prices. Yes, it has started selling.
