Islamabad : The government on Wednesday reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) for the next fortnight by Rs15.39 and Rs7.88, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Finance, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved the reduction after reviewing the summary from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
In a notification, the finance ministry stated that the reduction was due to price changes in the international market, as petroleum product prices had been on a decreasing trend over the last 15 days.
After the price reduction, petrol will be available at Rs 273.10 and high-speed diesel at Rs 274.08 per liter starting on May 16, 2024.
Additionally, the price of light diesel oil has been decreased by Rs 7.54 per liter, and the price of kerosene oil has been reduced by Rs 9.86 per liter. Kerosene will now be available at Rs 173.48 per liter, while the new price of light diesel has been fixed at Rs 161.17 per liter
