ISLAMABAD: The newly appointed chairman of Islamabad’s Capital Development Authority (CDA), Mohammad Ali Randhawa, has directed a significant extension of operating hours for the one-window operation. This move aims at streamlining bureaucracy and enhancing citizen experience within the CDA.
Previously, the timings for property transfer-related services were not readily available to the public.
According to the issued notification, however, under Randhawa’s leadership, the one-window operation will now be open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
This extended schedule is expected to provide much-needed relief to citizens by offering greater flexibility in navigating property transfer procedures.
Chairman Randhawa’s focus on efficiency extends beyond extended hours. He has also emphasized the digitization of all records within the CDA facilitation center, aiming to expedite processes and minimize delays. Additionally, a visit to Lahore’s Development Authority (LDA) has been arranged to benchmark their successful one-window operation model for potential replication in Islamabad’s CDA.
These initiatives come amidst reports of citizen dissatisfaction with the CDA facilitation center’s performance. According to sources at Media Sources, a Pakistani newspaper, Randhawa addressed these concerns during a visit, expressing displeasure over pending cases and directing staff deployment throughout the extended hours for improved service.
The Chairman’s commitment to improvement extends beyond property transfer services. He reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with cleanliness and security measures at the CDA Hospital, also known as Capital Hospital, during a separate visit. Instructions were issued to enhance patient treatment facilities and address the non-functional MRI machine, which has reportedly been out of service for seven months.
Randhawa’s focus on streamlining operations and addressing citizen grievances signifies a potential shift in the CDA’s approach. The extended one-window operation hours, digitization efforts, and focus on hospital services are all initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and citizen satisfaction within the civic agency.
