Saudi Authorities Arrest Two Pakistanis in Madinah Drug Bust

MADINAH: Two Pakistani nationals were arrested during a crackdown on drug peddlers in the Madinah region, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Tuesday.

The suspects were apprehended for methamphetamine trafficking and were subsequently handed over to the public prosecution following initial legal procedures.

Numerous arrests have been made throughout Saudi Arabia in efforts to combat drug peddling and smuggling. The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority intercepted attempts to smuggle narcotics concealed within luggage at various ports.

One such interception involved a truck entering the Kingdom through Duba Port, which was found to contain 93,750 narcotic tablets concealed within its cargo. Additionally, 356,559 tablets were discovered in a shipment at Jeddah Islamic Port Customs, and 201,600 Captagon pills were recovered from a concealed compartment in the floor of a vehicle at Al-Haditha port.

The Customs Authority collaborated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to apprehend seven suspects associated with the intercepted consignment.

In a separate incident in Jeddah, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control apprehended two individuals, one Pakistani and one Filipino, attempting to sell 2.6 kilograms of methamphetamine.

Furthermore, in Hafr Al-Batin city, another Pakistani national was arrested by law enforcement for attempting to sell methamphetamine.
