RIYADH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held separate meetings on Sunday with Saudi Arabia’s Minister for Investment Khalid Al-Falih, Minister for Finance Mohammad Al Jadaan, and Minister for Industry Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhourayef to discuss matters of mutual interest.
During the discussions, the Saudi Minister for Investment hailed the Prime Minister as the “Prime Minister of Action,” noting, “We all recognize your performance and speed of work.”
He affirmed the Prime Minister’s commitment to advancing Pakistan’s progress, stating that they stood in solidarity with him. “Your mission is our mission,” he emphasized.
The Saudi Minister for Finance announced that a delegation of Saudi investors would soon visit Pakistan, underscoring Pakistan’s priority for their investment.
He assured continued cooperation from Saudi Arabia in agriculture, information technology, and energy sectors, recalling the significant contributions of Pakistanis to Saudi Arabia’s progress in the past.
In a meeting between the Prime Minister and the Saudi Finance Minister, both parties agreed to further explore investment opportunities in Pakistan.
The Saudi Finance Minister reiterated Saudi Arabia’s support for Pakistan’s economic progress, stating, “Progress in Pakistan is progress for Saudi Arabia.” He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s commitment to reforms under Vision 2030 and expressed readiness to collaborate with Pakistan.
During discussions with the Saudi Minister for Industry, there was mutual interest expressed in collaboration in agriculture, mining, and information technology.
The Saudi Minister indicated ongoing communication with Saudi private companies regarding investments in Pakistan, with representatives expected to visit soon. Priority was placed on fostering collaboration between private companies from both countries.
Expressing gratitude, the Prime Minister thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for their unwavering support during challenging times.
He credited the improvement in Pakistan’s economic conditions during his previous tenure to Saudi Arabia’s assistance, reaffirming the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The meetings were attended by Minister for Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, and Minister for Power Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari.
