DI KHAN: Unnamed armed individuals reportedly kidnapped Shakirullah Marwat, a district and sessions judge stationed at a local court in South Waziristan, while he was traveling from Tank to Dera Ismail Khan, as confirmed by the police on Saturday.

The abduction occurred near the Tank-DI Khan border, specifically in the village of Bagwal, while the judge was returning from duty.

According to DI Khan Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Adnan, the abductors abandoned the judge’s vehicle and driver at the scene. No group has claimed responsibility for the abduction, as per police statements.

In response to the distressing event, Faisal Karim Kundi, the Central Information Secretary of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), expressed concern and sorrow. He urged KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to address the perceived lack of seriousness in maintaining peace in the province, questioning why terrorists are seemingly free to act.

Kundi emphasized that news of the judge’s abduction has heightened feelings of insecurity among the public and offered prayers for his safe return.

Taking prompt action, KP CM Gandapur instructed authorities to ensure the safe release of the abducted judge. He stressed the importance of deploying emergency measures and utilizing all available resources for Marwat’s recovery.

Gandapur condemned the incident, asserting that those responsible for the kidnapping will face justice.
