KARACHI: Astronomical Society resources have forecasted that Muslims are likely to observe 30 fasts this Ramadan in Pakistan in 2024.
While predicting the sighting of the moon for the upcoming month of Shawwal-ul-Mukarram, it was mentioned that the moon is expected to be seen on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024. Consequently, the first day of Shawwal-ul-Mukarram, Eid-ul-Fitr, will fall on Thursday, April 11th, 2024 , in Pakistan.
The meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled for April 9, 2024. The final announcement regarding the sighting of the moon will be made by the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. Experts from the meteorological department will also participate in the committee meeting.
In other news, the UAE government has declared Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. These holidays will span from the 29th of Ramadan to the 3rd of Shawwal.
