QUETTA: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has suggested the establishment of a parliamentary committee in Balochistan to tackle the issue of enforced disappearances, aiming to resolve this urgent matter.

During a press conference at the Balochistan Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Saturday, Bilawal urged all political factions to join hands with PPP on the missing persons issue, acknowledging the need for collective effort rather than unilateral action by any single party.

The former foreign minister emphasized that the PPP-led Balochistan government is committed to addressing terrorism and extremism as per the National Action Plan (NAP), highlighting terrorism as one of the major challenges confronting the province.

Bilawal reiterated that the PPP would govern Balochistan in line with the vision of the late former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto, particularly with Sarfraz Bugti elected unopposed as the chief minister.

The PPP leader affirmed that Bugti’s government would work to tackle the challenges facing Balochistan, advising him to prioritize a visit to the calamity-stricken city of Gwadar and ensure continuous relief efforts.

Bilawal stated that the PPP would uplift the people of Balochistan through its economic agenda and assured a cooperative approach from the provincial government.
