RAWALPINDI : At least nine terrorists were killed in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), during which one soldier was martyred, according to the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
The military’s media affairs wing stated that an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was carried out by security forces in Tank District. During the IBO, two terrorists, including a high-value target (HVT) Rehmat Ullah, also known as Badar Mansur, were eliminated.
“In another operation in South Waziristan District, seven terrorists were eliminated following a fierce exchange of fire.”
The ISPR also disclosed that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the deceased terrorists.
These militants had been actively engaged in various terrorist activities in the region, including attacks against security forces, as well as extortion and targeted killings of civilians, it noted.
Tragically, during the operation, Sepoy Shahzeb Aslam, aged 29, bravely fought but ultimately sacrificed his life.
“The security forces of Pakistan are resolute in eradicating terrorism from the country, and the sacrifices made by our courageous soldiers only strengthen our determination,” the ISPR concluded.
