ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to introduce a B-form with security features for children above the age of 10 in the country, as per the private newspaper report.
According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, under the security features, fingerprints and photographs of children above the age of 10 have been made a mandatory part of the B-form. This special B-form (registration certificate) will be issued in a phased manner from January 15.
As per report, the Ministry of Interior has said that NADRA, in collaboration with the Passport Department, has announced the inclusion of fingerprints and photographs of children in the B-form.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that these steps will help prevent theft and misuse of children’s identity information, and crimes such as fake identity cards of children, illegal passports, and human trafficking will be prevented.
He has said that he congratulates the Chairman of NADRA, DG Passport, and the team for introducing reforms in the B-form.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, in the first phase, fingerprints and photographs of children above 10 years and below 18 years will be taken at NADRA centers from January 15. One of the parents or legal guardians must accompany the children.

The spokesperson said that the parents or legal guardians will also have to bring the computerized national identity card and the computerized birth certificate of the child. After necessary action at NADRA, a B-form with the child’s photograph will be issued.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, children above 10 years and below 18 years will have to present the B-form issued by NADRA while applying for a new passport, while the old B-form, which does not include a photograph and fingerprints, will not be acceptable for children of the above age.
The spokesperson said that the parents or legal guardians should get a new B-form with the photograph and fingerprints of the child above 10 years from NADRA, and further reforms will be introduced in the next phases.
According to the spokesperson, facilities for obtaining iris scans, photographs, and fingerprints will be provided in the union council, and steps will be taken to integrate NADRA’s identification system with the civil registration management system of the provinces.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, steps will be taken to ensure better services on NADRA’s Pak ID mobile app, and digital IDs will be issued to all Pakistani citizens.
