The military’s media wing stated, “Both parties committed to sustained engagement to explore potential avenues for bilateral cooperation in pursuit of common interests.”

In the discussions with defense officials, areas such as counter-terrorism cooperation and defense collaboration were pinpointed as fundamental areas for cooperation.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to boosting communication and exploring methods to broaden the range of mutually advantageous engagements.

During the meetings, the army chief emphasized the significance of comprehending each other’s perspectives on regional security issues, specifically those influencing strategic stability in South Asia.

Within this context, COAS Munir stressed the importance of resolving the Kashmir issue in accordance with international law and pertinent United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.

General Asim’s visit occurs amid significant security challenges faced by Pakistan from both internal and external terrorist groups, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan being notably affected by these threats.
