RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir conducted a visit to the Tilla Field Firing Ranges near Jhelum, where he observed field firing and battle drills, as per an announcement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.

As outlined by the military’s media wing, the army chief was informed about the training objectives for the exercise, aimed at affirming the operational readiness of the formation in a challenging setting.

The army chief commended the coordinated efforts demonstrated by the Air Force, Army Aviation, and ground troops in carrying out diverse operational drills during his visit.

Gen Munir also lauded the troops for their combat expertise and offensive mindset, recognizing their elevated spirits and the troops’ readiness for battle.

Upon his arrival, Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza, Commander 4 Corps, welcomed the army chief.

In the previous week, COAS Munir expressed that terrorists and their associates, working to disrupt Pakistan on behalf of a hostile agenda, will be pursued until they surrender to the state. This statement was made during his interaction with officers and troops stationed in the Sherwangi area near Asman Manza in South Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). This interaction came a day after six brave soldiers lost their lives while valiantly combatting terrorists.

The COAS acknowledged the unwavering determination of the troops in combating terrorism. He emphasized, “The martyrs are our source of pride, and their sacrifices will remain meaningful until complete peace and stability are restored in Pakistan.”

Throughout the visit, Gen Munir was provided with an extensive briefing about the current security situation, including ongoing intelligence and counter-terrorism operations.

Upon his arrival, the COAS was welcomed by the Commander of Peshawar Corps.
