KARACHI: The United Arab Emirates’ Etihad Airways has been allowed to add more flights to Karachi.
Reports say the airline asked Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to operate three more weekly flights between Karachi and Abu Dhabi. The CAA approved the request, raising the total from 14 to 17 flights per week.
The new flights are set to start in October, giving passengers more travel options between the two cities. The Karachi-Abu Dhabi route is one of the busiest international connections for Karachi, used by both business and leisure travelers.
In another update, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will begin direct flights from Lahore to Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital, starting April 20.

PIA will run two weekly flights on this route, leaving Lahore every Sunday and Wednesday. A meeting was held in Karachi for travel agents and tour operators to share details about the new flights.
PIA officials said the route could help increase tourism and trade between the two countries. They also thanked travel agents for their support.
