KARACIH: Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that work on the Hyderabad-Sukkur motorway will start this year and will be completed in three years, while the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway will be built on a new route.
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, while addressing a press conference at the Pakistan Business Council in Karachi, said that work on the Hyderabad-Sukkur motorway will start this year and will be completed in three years, while the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway will be built on a new route.
He said that the PTI government stopped the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway, due to which the cost has now doubled.

Ahsan Iqbal said that a Rs. 5 billion project has been approved for the Karachi site area, 100% funding is being provided for the Rs. 125 billion K4 project, and political stability and continuity of policies are indispensable for the country’s development.
The Federal Minister further said that Pakistan had defaulted on April 1, 2022, but we have brought the country back on track in a short period of time.
On the other hand, the Sindh government has rejected a letter sent by the Punjab government to the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) regarding water distribution.

Sindh’s Irrigation Minister, Jam Khan Shoro, responded to the letter, stating that the Sindh government does not accept Punjab’s position. He urged that Sindh should receive its water share as per the 1991 Water Accord.
Shoro noted that Sindh’s canals faced a 62% water shortage in the first 10 days of April, while Punjab’s canals experienced a 54% shortage. He further said that, according to the 1991 Water Accord, all provinces should share water shortages equally.
