The Murree administration has announced that the Patriata cable car and chairlift will be closed for annual repairs from March 18, 2025, until Eid-ul-Fitr. During this time, tourists will not be able to use these facilities. They will reopen on the second day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Patriata cable car, the only one of its kind in Pakistan, was reopened last October after repairs by an Austrian company. Before that, it remained shut for one and a half years due to technical issues, disappointing many visitors.
A trip to Murree is considered incomplete without the Patriata chairlift, and its closure will force tourists to look for other fun activities. The administration hopes that after the repairs, these facilities will be safer and better, giving visitors a great experience.
