At least eight people died, and two others were seriously injured when a van fell into a ravine in the Kasur district on Friday.
The accident happened near Khara Morr on Raiwind Road. The passengers were members of a music group returning from a function in Raiwind.
Rescue officials said the van went off the road and crashed into the water. They said the driver may have fallen asleep while driving. Emergency teams reached the scene and moved the injured and the bodies to Bulleh Shah District Hospital. Hospital officials said both injured persons are in critical condition.
Police have started an investigation and are working on identifying the victims.
Two Killed in Car-Truck Crash in Attock
Two women died, and three others were injured in a car-truck collision in Attock’s Fateh Jang tehsil.

Rescue teams said the accident happened due to overspeeding. The car was traveling from Pindi Gheb to Islamabad. Police and rescue teams moved the injured and the bodies to the hospital.
1,306 Road Accidents in Punjab in 24 Hours
At least 18 people died, and 1,496 were injured in 1,306 road accidents across Punjab in the last 24 hours, according to reports.
Out of the total injured, 612 were taken to hospitals with serious injuries. Rescue teams provided medical aid to 884 people with minor injuries at the scene.
