CDA updates electric bus route FR-03A, launches trial run of FR-15 from Gulberg Green to T Chowk

On other news, city officials have instructed the relevant department of the CDA to deploy all 160 electric buses in Islamabad on existing routes and establish new ones to benefit the public.

According to the newspaper report, currently, approximately 70 out of the 160 buses are operational. During a recent meeting, CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa urged the department to ensure full utilization of all buses.

However, the exact number of buses that can be deployed remains uncertain due to a shortage of charging stations. The CDA currently has only 16 charging stations, which officials deem inadequate. A new depot is under construction at Zero Point, where additional charging facilities will be installed.

The chairman advised prioritizing high-demand routes to maximize bus usage.

The CDA has initiated bus services on eight routes, but awareness among the public is limited because there is no written information available on the buses or their routes.
