LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the introduction of motorcycle mini clinics in the province while inaugurating the health clinic project.
As per the report, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic Project in Lahore, took a pledge from doctors to serve patients and announced that motorcycle mini clinics would be introduced in Punjab.
She also announced an increase in the annual fund for dialysis patients from Rs. 700,000 to Rs. 1,000,000, the launch of a project to provide insulin to type-one patients at home across Punjab, and the upcoming start of a project for organ implants in the province.
The Punjab Chief Minister ordered the establishment and activation of a help desk to guide patients in hospitals and said that doctors should make “saving a human life, saving the life of the entire humanity” a guiding principle.
She said that doctors should ensure the maintenance, cleanliness, and proper arrangements of the new Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic. She added that efforts are being made to address the shortage of nurses in hospitals, and paramedical staff on motorcycles will provide initial diagnosis and treatment.
She further stated that paramedical staff will stay in touch with doctors through telemedicine and expressed her satisfaction in seeing doctors serving the public with sincerity.
Maryam Nawaz acknowledged that there are many challenges and that change cannot happen overnight. She noted that, in addition to Punjab’s population of 120 million, people from Balochistan, KP, Kashmir, and Afghanistan are also benefiting from the Punjab health system.

She highlighted that the lack of hospital infrastructure and resources is a significant challenge. About 90% of medicines are being provided free of cost in Punjab. She criticized the 9-to-5 working attitude, emphasizing the need for change.
Maryam Nawaz lamented the theft of medicines, including insulin, from hospitals, adding that Chinese hospital authorities were shocked to hear about such incidents.
She mentioned deploying officers to improve the three major hospitals in Lahore, with more than 7 million people having benefited from field hospitals. She also stated that elderly patients no longer need to visit hospitals, as treatment is now possible near their homes.
The Punjab Chief Minister shared that “Clinic on Wheels” services are being offered in streets and neighborhoods. She expressed her desire for at least 100,000 people to receive cancer medicines for two months at home.
She noted that patients from Balochistan, KP, Sindh, and Azad Kashmir are being treated in Punjab. A Baloch patient, after receiving free medicines at home for two months, remarked that he feels “half Baloch and half Punjabi.”
Maryam also announced the construction of a new hospital for cancer treatment, highlighting the possibility of treating cancerous tumors with Chinese methods. She assured that the best machinery in the world would be brought to Punjab hospitals.

Punjab CM Maryam stated that 1,250 basic health centers are being constructed and renovated in Punjab, out of which 904 have already been completed. She added that, after revamping, Punjab’s hospitals will match the standards of the best hospitals in the world.
She emphasized that doctors are the real agents of change and called on them to lend a hand in service. The Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic will also provide ECG, ultrasound, and other diagnostic machines, including CT scan and MRI machines.
