RAWALPINDI: CTD Punjab, intensifying its operations against terrorists, conducted 242 intelligence-based operations across the province during the current month, as a result of which 34 terrorists were arrested.
According to the CTD spokesperson, these operations were conducted in Lahore, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Narowal, Sargodha, Chakwal, Jhelum, Attock, Gujrat, Bhakkar, and Rahim Yar Khan.
In these operations, 11 highly dangerous terrorists from other banned organizations, including Fitna-ul-Khawarij, were arrested in Lahore. Weapons, explosives, and maps of important buildings were recovered from their possession.
The arrested terrorists include Zubair, Aslam, Abu Bakr, Fida Hussain, Fahad Saleem, Saifullah, Nafees, Issar, Haji Shah, Abdullah, and others. The aim of these terrorists was to target an important government building in Lahore.

The CTD spokesperson further stated that explosives, 28 detonators, 89 feet of safety fuse wire, bullets, weapons, a hand grenade, four IED bombs, Prima cards, mobile phones, prohibited pamphlets, and cash were also recovered from the possession of these terrorists.
According to the spokesperson, 7,536 combing operations were also conducted this month (November), during which 637 suspects were detained, and 235,630 people were questioned.
Reiterating its commitment, the CTD stated that the goal of CTD Punjab is a safe and peaceful province. “We are determined to uproot the scourge of terrorism,” the spokesperson said.
