ISLAMABAD: The government has announced a revision of petroleum product prices for the next 15 days in the country.
According to the notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 3.72 per liter, after which the new price has been fixed at Rs 252.10 per liter.
Similarly, the price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) has also been increased by Rs 3.29 per liter, bringing the new price to Rs 258.43 per liter.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the price of kerosene oil has been reduced by 62 paise per liter and the price of light diesel oil has been reduced by 48 paise per liter.
It should be noted that before the recent changes, the government had decided to keep the prices of petrol and diesel unchanged on November 15, under which the price of petrol was Rs 248.38 and the price of high speed diesel was Rs 255.14.
“The new rates will come into effect from December 1, 2024” the notification said.
According to official sources, volatility in crude oil prices in the global market is the main reason for these changes.
