Internet, mobile services in Pakistan to be partially suspended from Nov 23

ISLAMABAD: In view of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf protest, it has been decided to partially suspend internet and mobile phone services starting from November 23.

According to media sources, internet and mobile phone services may be suspended in various districts of Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Punjab.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) will activate a firewall on mobile internet services from November 22.

Sources say that due to the activation of the firewall, internet services will be slow, and videos and audio on social media apps will not be downloadable.

Internet and mobile services may be suspended at specific locations at any time, depending on the situation.

On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has prepared a special squad for the November 24 protest.

According to sources, this squad will include 9,000 workers from the PTI Youth Wing. Provincial Minister Meena Khan and Special Assistant Sohail Afridi will lead the squad.

According to the report, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa described the squad as “jihadi” during the PTI Peshawar meeting.

Sources related to the squad say that this special squad will lead the main convoy and has been provided with equipment to protect against shelling.
