Media report says, during the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif and American President Joe Biden both expressed good wishes for each other.

It should be remembered that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently in the United States to attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, where he also met the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, yesterday.

During meeting, the Prime Minister appreciated the IMF’s support for the successful 37-month Staff-Level Agreement regarding Pakistan’s $7 billion Expanded Fund Facility and vowed to implement institutional reforms and promote private sector development.

The Prime Minister also praised the IMF’s technical assistance and capacity-building programs that have helped strengthen the country’s institutions and improve economic management.

Apart from this, Shehbaz Sharif also met British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, during which they agreed to further promote Pakistan-UK relations and advance various sectors, especially trade and investment.

It should be noted that the Prime Minister addressed the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly yesterday, in which he said that considering the serious challenges facing the world system, including the genocide and massacre by Israel in Gaza, we must address the emerging New World Order.

He said that today the world system is facing serious challenges: the genocide and massacre by Israel in Gaza, the dangerous conflict in Ukraine, the devastating conflicts across Africa and Asia, the growing tension around the world, and the rising challenges of terrorism, poverty, and climate change—all of which signal the echoes of a new world order.
