The letter also called for strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which would prohibit uploading of uniforms, weapons, police badges, or other evidence on personal social media accounts.

The letter also stated that many police personnel were found violating the SOPs and directed the RPOs and DPOs to take departmental action.

The Central Police Office has emphasized that the use of social media damages the reputation of the police department and may even endanger the lives of other personnel.
