ISLAMABAD: Students in government schools of Islamabad are facing a shortage of books as the new annual session commenced on April 22, 2024.
According to a report from the private media, schools under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) are struggling to acquire ninth-class books.
Reports indicate that efforts are underway to provide books to students today to address the shortage. However, teachers are expressing concerns about any further delays in book provision.
A private media source within FDE has stated that books have been printed and will be distributed to students today, Thursday. The source mentioned that technical issues caused a delay of approximately one week.
Additionally, a source within the Ministry of Education has stated that there is no shortage of ninth-class books. They claim that more than 70% of textbooks have already been delivered, with the remainder scheduled for delivery by Saturday.
The official also mentioned that to assist students and teachers, the books were already available online to prevent any academic setbacks for students.
