Government Appoints Ali Randhawa as New Chief Commissioner of Islamabad

ISLAMABAD : In a notable development, the government has made a decision to appoint Muhammad Ali Randhawa as the new Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, replacing Captain (retd) Anwarul Haq who has been removed from the post with immediate effect.

As reported by private TV channels, citing sources, the Prime Minister has issued orders for the removal of Captain (retd) Haq from the position of Chief Commissioner.

Furthermore, it is reported that the federal government intends to appoint Muhammad Ali Randhawa, a Grade 20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), as the new Chief Commissioner of Islamabad.

Currently serving as Commissioner Lahore, Randhawa’s appointment is pending confirmation as the Ministry of Interior has initiated the process by writing to the Secretary of the Establishment Division.

Signed by Ghulam Murtaza, Section Officer (Admin) of the Ministry of Interior, the letter expresses the Ministry’s desire to utilize the services of Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa, currently serving as Commissioner Lahore in the Punjab government, as the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad. The Ministry thus requests the transfer of his services accordingly.
