These images showcase the first-ever Miss Universe participant from Saudi Arabia exuding elegance in a striking red dress, alongside flags representing Pakistan, India, and two other countries.
Following the attention garnered by her groundbreaking announcement, Saudi Arabia is poised to enter the esteemed Miss Universe beauty pageant for the first time this year, with Rumy Alqahtani, a model from Riyadh, taking on the responsibility of representing the nation on the global stage.
Ms. Alqahtani, boasting a million followers on Instagram, formally announced her participation by sharing a captivating picture donning a silver sequin gown adorned with the “Miss Universe Saudi Arabia” sash and the Saudi flag.
She expressed her honor in participating in Miss Universe 2024, marking Saudi Arabia’s debut in the esteemed competition.
Boasting a Bachelor’s degree in dentistry and fluency in Arabic, French, and English, Rumy Alqahtani has carved a notable presence in the beauty pageant arena, participating in global competitions such as the Miss and Mrs. Global Asian competition held in Malaysia, Miss Arab Peace, and Miss Europe.

Her accolades include winning prestigious titles such as Miss Saudi Arabia, Miss Middle East, Miss Arab World Peace, and Miss Woman (Saudi Arabia), as reported by Emirates Woman.
Demonstrating a keen passion for travel, she has journeyed to numerous countries, including the UAE, Egypt, and Italy, with her adventures prominently featured in her social media posts.
Additionally, in February 2024, Ms. Alqahtani was appointed by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as a Goodwill Ambassador, tasked with raising awareness against the violence inflicted upon women and girls.
She was also honored with an invitation as a keynote speaker at the 7th World Summit on Human Rights 2024 held in Geneva.
The 73rd edition of the Miss Universe 2024 pageant is slated to take place in Mexico on September 18, where Sheynnis Palacios, the reigning Miss Universe from Nicaragua, will gracefully pass on her crown to her successor.
