Spider-Man Meets TV: New Addition Features Zip Line Mechanism to Prevent Falls

In January of 2023, an American startup called Display unveiled a groundbreaking innovation – the world’s inaugural non-electric television.

This pioneering TV operates wirelessly and relies on a battery for power. Equipped with four batteries, the company claims that a single charge can sustain the TV for up to a month, assuming it is used for six hours per day, following which it requires recharging.

This TV introduces a unique feature previously unseen in other televisions – a built-in zip line mechanism that prevents it from detaching from the wall. Display accomplishes this with the assistance of Active Loop Vacuum technology, consisting of two strips. This technology enables the TV to adhere to various surfaces, such as windows, walls, or even the floor, providing exceptional versatility.

While the battery replacement process may pose a risk of the TV falling, the zip line feature serves as a safeguard against such mishaps. In the event of damage to the TV’s seal or a wall malfunction, the zip line operates akin to Spider-Man’s web-shooting, gradually lowering the TV by ten feet and deploying foam within the TV to cushion any impact upon reaching the ground.

Notably, this device eliminates the need for a remote control, as it can be controlled through hand gestures using a camera positioned atop the TV. Additionally, the TV includes a separate base unit box, which must be connected to a power socket and facilitates streaming content via Wi-Fi.
