In a statement released on Saturday, a member of her team stated, “Nushrrat is unfortunately stuck in Israel, where she had gone to attend the Haifa International Film Festival, where her film ‘Akili’ was selected.”

The team member mentioned that the last time they had contacted her was around 12:30 pm, when she was safely sheltered in a basement. Further details could not be disclosed due to security measures.

A member of Bharucha’s team added, “Since then, we have not been able to contact her. We are making efforts to safely bring Nushrrat back to India and hope for her return in good health and unharmed.”

It’s worth noting that rocket attacks, shootings, and hostage-taking continued from Saturday morning until Sunday morning, resulting in the deaths of more than 500 Israelis and injuries to more than 1,800 others. An unknown number of soldiers and civilians were also taken hostage.

Major General Nimrod Aluni, who is in charge of operations against Palestinians, is among the Israeli citizens taken hostage by Hamas.

Hamas initiated the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday by firing 5,000 rockets at Israel, causing chaos in Israeli cities.
