ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has decided to launch a special polio eradication campaign in three provinces. The campaign will be conducted from March 25 to 28, 2024.
According to private media sources, the special polio campaign will be conducted in districts with positive sewage samples. The outbreak response polio campaign will be conducted in Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan. More than 8.2 million children will be vaccinated against polio in 26 districts.
The campaign will be conducted in 11 districts of Balochistan, 8 districts of Sindh, and 7 districts of Punjab. It will be conducted in specific areas of Faisalabad, Khairpur, and Kasur. The campaign will also cover Ghotki, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Shikarpur, Qambar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Rajanpur, Okara, Faisalabad, Kasur, and Rahim Yar Khan.
According to sources, the campaign will also extend to Dera Bugti, Osta Muhammad, Sibi, Hub, Chaman, Khuzdar, Kech, Lasbela, Suhbatpur, Naseerabad, and Jaffarabad.
