ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has opted to collaborate with a private firm to develop a housing scheme.
Named the ‘Kurri Enclave Housing Scheme,’ it will span across 10,000 kanals in Kurri village.
Sources indicate that although the land is owned by the CDA, the project, which entails significant costs, will be undertaken as a joint venture. This venture may involve a leading real estate developer or a consortium of multiple firms.
The CDA board has previously sanctioned the launch and development of housing schemes in partnership with the private sector.
Furthermore, expressions of interest (EoIs) have been solicited to select reputable firms for project execution. The chosen real estate entity will contribute to the investment required for project development and planning.
It’s noteworthy that during the last federal cabinet meeting, caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar urged the CDA to prioritize vertical development for residential projects to maximize housing units in Islamabad.
