RAWALPINDI: An improvised explosive device (IED) explosion targeted a security vehicle in Balochistan’s Kech district, prompting a swift response from security forces, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
According to the military’s media wing, a tense gunfight ensued between security personnel and terrorists following the IED blast in Kech’s Buleda area.
The troops immediately responded and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, as a result of which three terrorists were killed. During the operation, five soldiers embraced martyrdom.
The martyred soldiers were identified as
1. Sepoy Tipu Razzaq, 23, hailing from district Sahiwal
2. Sepoy Sunny Shaukat, 24, hailing from district Karachi
3. Sepoy Shafi Ullah, 23, hailing from district Lasbela
4. Lance Naik Tariq Ali, 25, hailing from district Orakzai
5. Sepoy Muhammad Tariq Khan, 25, hailing from district Mianwali
A sanitization operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area, as confirmed by the ISPR.
The ISPR emphasized that the security forces of Pakistan, in alignment with the nation, remain steadfast in thwarting attempts to sabotage the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan. The sacrifices of these courageous soldiers only serve to fortify the nation’s determination and commitment to these objectives.
