BAJAUR: An assault by terrorists targeted law enforcement officers tasked with safeguarding an anti-polio initiative in the Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s northern region.

According to official police statements, an explosion rocked the Mamond Belot area in Bajaur, claiming the lives of five police personnel while leaving more than ten individuals wounded.

The Bajaur police department confirmed that the detonation occurred in close proximity to a police vehicle.

These officers were en route to provide security for the ongoing anti-polio campaign when the explosion occurred, as outlined by Bajaur law enforcement.

The blast resulted in the complete destruction of the police truck.

The deceased and injured have been transferred to Khar Hospital, while authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.

Details regarding the precise nature of the explosion remain undisclosed, and no terrorist organization has laid claim to the attack.
