LAHORE: The interim Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, affirmed that there would be no further extension to the ongoing winter vacation in Punjab. However, in consideration of the harsh weather conditions, he unveiled adjusted school timings.
Punjab’s schools are set to resume classes on January 10th (Tuesday) with a revised starting time of 9:30 am. Naqvi stressed the significance of wearing appropriate warm attire during the prevailing winter spell.
Naqvi communicated this information through a post on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), informing the public about the modified school schedule amid the current weather conditions.

Previously, the annual winter break for Punjab’s schools had commenced on December 18, 2023, and was originally planned to conclude on January 1, 2024. However, the vacation period was later extended until January 9.
Meanwhile, the Sindh education department has announced that schools will now open at 9 am instead of the previous timing of 8:30 am, which was extended last week from 8 am.
