ISLAMABAD: In response to the current security situation in the country, the Federal Ministry of Interior has made a significant decision to deploy the Pakistan Army nationwide during the holy month of Muharram.

Under Article 245, the Ministry of Interior has acted upon the requests from the four provinces and will now have the army take charge of security for all processions and gatherings throughout Muharram.

To ensure comprehensive security coverage, the Ministry of Home Affairs has extended this decision to the government of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, alongside the four provinces. Collaborating with the police and other law enforcement agencies, the Pakistan Army will shoulder the responsibility of safeguarding the events during this sacred period.

This move by the government reflects their commitment to ensuring a safe environment during Muharram and highlights the seriousness with which they are addressing security concerns nationwide.
