Public Holiday Announced for Lahore on September 7

LAHORE: Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has officially announced that Lahore will observe a public holiday on September 7 (Thursday) to mark the annual Urs (death anniversary) of Data Ganj Bakhsh Syed Ali Hajwari (RA).

CM Naqvi, during his visit to Data Darbar, informed the public that the three-day Urs ceremony is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, starting tomorrow.

Emphasizing the significance of the event, the Chief Minister stated, “The celebrations will span three days, from Tuesday to Thursday, and we are committed to enhancing the arrangements for this occasion.”

He further revealed, “We have convened a meeting with the commissioner to ensure that a langar khana (community kitchen) is organized so that all attendees can partake in the festivities.” Additionally, arrangements are being made for mehfil-e-samaa, where renowned qawwals will mesmerize the audience with their performances.

CM Naqvi reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring the utmost quality of arrangements for Chehlum, processions, and Urs.

Addressing the issue of traffic management, the Chief Minister assured the public that a comprehensive plan is already in place, and parking facilities will be provided once security measures are approved.
