ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has responded to nationwide demonstrations sparked by a surge in electricity charges by introducing a novel solution – offering an installment scheme to its clientele.

The declaration was made by Dr. Muhammad Amjad Khan, IESCO’s Chief Executive, who underscored that the corporation’s multiple branches will now extend the option of staggered payments to patrons grappling with an inability to settle their bills in one go.

Dr. Amjad urged IESCO’s esteemed consumers to establish communication with the pertinent Sub-Divisional Office, Revenue Office, or Customer Service Centers should they possess any queries or reservations regarding their electricity bills.

The move follows a series of protests that reverberated through Pakistan’s major urban centers, reflecting public dissatisfaction over substantial upswings in electricity tariffs. The revelation arrives as a solace for the populace, offering respite in the midst of these circumstances.
