KARACHI: The Sindh Home Department has taken action to address security concerns by imposing a ban on double riding of motorcycles across the entire province during the 9th and 10th of Muharram.
The ban, issued through an official notification, aims to curb potential law and order issues during this sensitive period.
However, the ban comes with exceptions, as women, children, disabled individuals, and senior citizens will be exempted from this restriction on double riding.
Additionally, in a further move to strengthen security measures, all permits for carrying weapons in the province have been temporarily suspended.
To ensure a peaceful Muharram, the provincial interior department has extended the ban to include all kinds of meetings and processions, except for those directly related to Muharram observances.
