ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, Firdous Ashiq Awan has announced her departure from Tehreek-e-Insaf, joining the growing list of leaders who have separated from the party.
Awan strongly expressed her views on the events that unfolded on May 9, asserting that they were a premeditated scheme orchestrated by individuals at Zaman Park. She claimed that this organized conspiracy aimed to ridicule national institutions. According to her, the conspiracy had external motives and sought to appease foreign powers, transforming political differences into personal animosity.
Awan highlighted the extent of polarization that had permeated society, with a specific group allegedly treating the Prime Minister’s residence as their own. She emphasized the importance of not forgetting the sacrifices made by martyrs and called for an impartial investigation into the events of May 9, advocating severe punishment for those involved.
Expressing her dismay, Awan condemned the political atmosphere and scene, stating that she could no longer be associated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) due to what she described as terrorist and malevolent activities. While parting ways with PTI, she affirmed her commitment to her ongoing political journey.
Furthermore, Awan accused a specific group of disrespecting institutions, contending that Imran Khan and Pakistan could no longer coexist. She argued that Khan’s agenda had become detrimental to the country, likening it to a poisonous substance. Awan concluded by asserting that those who had driven PTI to its current state of disarray should not be regarded as leaders simply by declaring independence, criticizing their treatment of the party.
