ZHOB, Balochistan : In a shocking incident, an explosion took place near the convoy of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Siraj-ul-Haq in the province of Balochistan, according to Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Ameerul-Azeem.The attack, carried out by a suicide bomber, resulted in the death of the assailant.
Unharmed Leader, Injured Workers
Fortunately, Siraj-ul-Haq and all others accompanying him remained unharmed, as confirmed by Ameerul-Azeem. The incident occurred as the Jamaat-e-Islami leader was being transported in a convoy when the suicide bomber detonated the explosive device. However, tragically, seven workers affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami sustained injuries in the blast, with four of them reported to be in critical condition, Ameerul-Azeem added.
Confirmation by Local Police
On the other hand, local police authorities have corroborated the incident, stating that an explosion occurred near Siraj-ul-Haq’s convoy in Zhob. However, they assured that Siraj-ul-Haq, the esteemed Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, emerged unscathed from the incident.
Meeting and Investigation
Moreover, the police disclosed that a Jamaat-e-Islami meeting was scheduled in Zhob today, during which Siraj-ul-Haq was set to address the attendees. The investigation into the incident is underway as authorities strive to determine the motive behind the attack and identify any potential threats to the safety of prominent political figures.
