The 2025 Champions Trophy matches will be played under a hybrid model, with both the ICC and India agreeing to all of Pakistan’s conditions, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
According to PCB sources, the official agreement between the two boards will be signed in the next day or two, after which the ICC will make a formal announcement.
According to Indian media reports, the Champions Trophy matches will be held in both Pakistan and Dubai under the hybrid model. It has also been decided that during the 2026 T20 World Cup, the Pakistan team will not travel to India, and the Pakistan-India match will be played in Colombo. The sources further stated that Pakistan will not receive compensation for hosting India’s matches, but in return, the PCB will have the opportunity to host the ICC Women’s Tournament after 2027.
As per PCB’s suggestions, India has agreed to designate Dubai as a potential venue for the Champions Trophy matches, while Pakistan is in discussions with Dubai, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka to host five of the matches.
Reports indicate that the three-year hybrid model is likely to receive formal approval from the ICC, after which the in-principle agreement between the two countries will be finalized in writing. According to this agreement, after the consent of both Pakistan and India, the 2025 Champions Trophy will be held in Dubai and Pakistan, while for the 2026 T20 World Cup, Pakistan will not travel to India but will play matches in Colombo.
