ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari will now be invited as a member to the board meetings of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), according to a press release.
This move is aimed at including the voice of the business community in the CDA’s policymaking process, said Chief Commissioner Islamabad and CDA Chairman Captain (r) Noor Ul Amin Mengal during a recent visit to the ICCI.
The chairman also announced that the CDA would provide plots for the construction of an expo centre, school, hospital, and sports ground to the chamber, adding that commercial plots would be given to the business community on a 33-, 50- and 99-year lease.
The CDA is making business-friendly policies to facilitate the business community, he said. To solve the problem of parking in the markets, six more parking plazas will be constructed through the private sector by allotting them plots on a lease for 33 years.
The sanitation system in rural areas will be outsourced and public toilets in markets will also be built through the private sector on a leased basis, the chairman added. All mega projects in Islamabad will be completed by July this year, he said.
