SIALKOT: Voting for the by-election in Punjab Assembly constituency PP-52 Sialkot is taking place today, Sunday, June 1, 2025. Polling began at 8 AM and will continue without any break until 5 PM.
According to the Election Commission, the constituency has a total of 297,185 registered voters. This includes 157,725 male voters and 139,460 female voters.
To ensure a smooth and organised election process, 185 polling stations have been set up in the constituency. Among these, 57 are for men, 57 for women, and 71 are joint polling stations.
The seat became vacant after the death of PML-N’s provincial assembly member, Chaudhry Arshad Warraich. A total of 15 candidates are contesting in this by-election, including prominent candidates from major political parties.

Hina Arshad Warraich, daughter of the late MPA, is the candidate for PML-N. Fakhir Nishat Ghumman is contesting as the PTI-backed candidate, and Raheel Kamran Cheema is representing the Pakistan Peoples Party.
District Police Sialkot has implemented foolproof security measures to ensure peace and order during the election. Police officials stated that over 2,000 police officers, personnel, and Elite Force commandos are on security duty in the constituency. Additional police forces have been deployed at sensitive polling stations.
