ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reopened its airspace for all types of flights. Both domestic and international flight operations are being restored, and flights are expected to run according to schedule.
According to a spokesperson from the Civil Aviation Authority, flights that pass through Pakistan’s airspace to travel between other countries can now use the airspace as normal.
However, full restoration of flight operations will take some time. Officials say that some flights are still delayed or cancelled due to low passenger numbers and earlier disruptions. It is expected that normal operations will resume within the next 6 to 12 hours.
Flights coming into Pakistan from abroad may take longer to resume. Some international airlines, including Emirates and Islam Air, had already cancelled their flights for May 10, but they plan to restart operations from May 11.
Other airlines like Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines are also expected to restart their flights soon.
A large number of Pakistani passengers were stranded at different foreign airports. Now, there is hope that they will be able to return home in the coming hours.
