KARACHI: Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced that more than 12,000 streetlights will be installed in the city’s 246 union councils during the month of Ramazan 2025.
According to a private tv channel report, speaking at a ceremony to distribute streetlights at the KMC head office, Murtaza Wahab said they are bringing back the lights of Karachi.
He said that during Ramazan, more than 12,000 streetlights will be installed across Karachi’s 246 union councils, and each chairman is being given 50 streetlights.
The Karachi Mayor added that these streetlights have been given to all chairmen without any discrimination, and the charm of Karachi is also returning.

He said the entire city is spending Ramazan with peace and calm, and the details of a brighter Karachi need to be shared with the people of Karachi.
Murtaza Wahab also said that work on large projects has started in every town, and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation will work in each town.
He said the income of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation is a trust of the people of Karachi, and in the last one and a half years, they have made tough decisions. He added that the difficulties faced are now starting to show results.
The Karachi Mayor said there is a need to serve more effectively, and the income of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has now improved.
