RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Airports Authority has built the New Walton Airport in Muridke for small planes. The airport opened on February 1 for general aviation flights.
As per the private tv channel report, a notice to Airmen (NOTAM) about its operations has been issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority.
The New Walton Airport will be used by flying schools and general aviation planes. It has been set up to support general aviation in the region.
Flights will be allowed from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Private plane owners can also use this facility. Initially, five hangars have been built at the airport. These hangars will be given to flying schools.

It is important to note that three years ago, the old Walton Airport in Lahore was closed, and a decision was made to move flying schools to Muridke.
ٰIn another news, Gwadar International Airport is now operational, and the first flight has landed.
The new airport has a single runway that is 3,658 meters long and 75 meters wide. It can handle large aircraft. Planes like the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747 can also land here. The airport was built at a cost of around Rs 50 billion.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formally inaugurated the airport on October 14, 2024. However, regular flight operations have started.
