KARACHI: The government of Sindh announced on Thursday that all Muslim employees and pensioners of the Provincial Government of Sindh, including work-charged and contingent paid establishment, will receive their full pay and allowances or full pension for the month of April in advance.
The move, which is expected to benefit thousands of government workers, comes ahead of the much-awaited event of Eid ul Fitr, which is expected to fall on either April 21 or Apr22il .
According to a notification issued by the finance department, the salaries and pensions will be released on April 17 instead of May 2. The decision has been taken in view of the festive occasion of Eid ul Fitr, which is celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm .
The announcement comes at a time when Pakistan is grappling with historic high inflation, which has made it difficult for many people to afford even basic necessities. The country is also facing challenges in securing external financing, with the threat of default looming over it. The government’s decision to release salaries and pensions in advance is expected to provide some relief to Muslim employees and pensioners during these trying times.
