ISLAMABAD: In Punjab, 3D matriculation bar code roll number slips will be issued for the first time in the upcoming exams, this step aims to completely eliminate cheating at exam centers. The new 3D roll number slips will be introduced in the Matric exams starting March 2025.
According to media reports, Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, Higher Education Secretary Dr. Farakh Naveed, and Lahore Commissioner/Chairman Zaid Bin Maqsood played a key role in this initiative, the new system will also apply to the Intermediate exams in 2025, with bar codes on certificates to prevent cheating.
These bar codes will make it easier to verify certificates online, both for government and private institutions. The Lahore Education Board has also added bar codes to Matric and Intermediate certificates, which will help in quick verification.

The new bar code system will reduce the crowd at the Lahore Education Board for certificate verification. According to Lahore Education Board Controller of Examinations Muhammad Zahid Mian, bar codes will be applied to all result cards and certificates for the 2025 exams.
The report also mentions that in 2026, biometric entry will be introduced at all exam centers. Candidates will need to arrive early to complete the biometric process before entering the exam center at the designated time.
The Lahore Education Board will purchase nearly 1,000 biometric machines for this purpose, these machines will be installed at exam centers to confirm the identity of candidates and ensure that only the original candidates take the exams.
